As I prepare for a road trip, I am in a quandary. What shall I bring? Not the clothing or snacks, but what will I bring to ‘do’ when traveling?
I’m a reader. Kindle loaded. Check!
I’m a curious learner. Podcast queue- Ready to go!
I’m a maker, a creator. Here is where the problems begin.
Shall I bring fabric scraps and create things I’ve never even thought of? Should I work on cutting out a new quilt or quilt blocks? Should I plan my next quilts and hand-sewn items? Should I, should I, should I??

When I travel I have visions of unburdened time. I don’t have to tend to the usual tasks of daily living. I’m not managing my household or garden. I don’t have to plan meals except maybe which restaurant to go to next. I even have limited choices when thinking of my morning tea. It frees my mind up to consider so much more.
And, for me, that can be dangerous!
My mind can be a whirligig of ideas. I have more than a few and don’t want to leave any behind. Planning is a big part of the fun. So this week I will be spending my time accumulating ideas and supplies for those idle times while I’m away. I know I can bring along all of the ideas but will have to limit the supplies and hope for the best.
What do you make sure to bring along in your travels?
