I love math. I know– it’s not a popular thing to admit, but there you have it. I’m a math nerd and I embrace it.
The love of math has come in especially handy with sewing. I enjoy the math involved in measuring, cutting and piecing. I don’t always get it right the first time, but I welcome the challenge it presents. I enjoy numbers, love looking for their patterns and wondering what if…? What if you change this number? What if you add a little here, take something away there? What’s the cascading effect?
Numbers and their patterns bring me peace. They help quiet my ever-wandering mind and give me something to focus on, even when my thoughts are swirling.
Sewing, cooking, decorating- all offer opportunities to engage my ‘mathness.’
